Even people like me with 2 left feet will learn and enjoy coming to Fred Astaire Dance Studio in Reston. We love it and we have fun learning!

LaKisha

I started with Fred Astaire as I had always wanted to try ballroom dancing. Great dance instructors, fun atmosphere, and have met lots of really nice people also taking lessons. If you want to be in a happy place…this is the place! Highly recommend.

Pam was top notch and a great business partner. She worked closely with me throughout the resume building process. She is very hands on and will help you fill in the blanks, so you present yourself the best way possible. If you want to work with someone who wants you to be successful, she is the right person for the job.

I wanted to pitch a brief review on the services I received from PJR Consulting. Pamela was all-around outstanding. I solicited the services of Pamela during the pandemic when the market was saturated and uncertain. Opportunities were scarce and I had additional circumstances factoring into my job search. Despite all these hurdles, Pamela was undeterred in her approach. She developed a systematic and tactical approach to the career services she provided. Through the renovation of my resume, cover letter, and LinkedIn page, my career marketability immediately increased.

In today’s world, I think genuine care and quality in people is rare. Pamela embodies these traits. What I most appreciated about Pamela and PJR Consulting, was the desire and commitment to assist me after the bulk of the project was completed. Any time I had questions they were promptly answered. Any time I had concerns they were quickly addressed. Working with Pamela and PJR Consulting was a pleasure, and one of the best decisions I made in the career search process. I highly recommend her and look forward to working with her in the future.

FAQs

General Questions:

Lead and Follow is a technique we are leveraging from Ballroom Dance. When two people are dancing one is the lead and the other the follower. For a successful dance only 1 person in the pair is the lead. The leader in dance keeps time, maintains the rhythm, and communicates to the follower the moves that they will execute. The follower performs the sequence based on the leader’s signals. Connection is extremely important because it is through the connection that the lead is communicated. Even in Ballroom dance the role of the follower is not reflexive or submissive. It requires listening and understanding your partner to deliver a solid execution.

Similarly in the corporate world, companies have been using and building collaborative teams to ensure deliver successfully. Using slightly different terminology, the team lead drives the schedule, timing, and keeps the team focused for a successful execution. The follower or team members deliver according to their expertise and areas of responsibility. Through listening, and discussion, the team collaborates delivering the best solution.

It is important for every team member to have a perspective on being both the lead and the follow. This gives each person an understanding of what is takes to deliver. The Socially Powered Core Service© is designed to give each participant of both roles with all team members and provide a new awareness.
Yes, everyone in the group will walk away with at the very least the basics to the dance or dances chosen by the company. Each participant will understand and have insight to the other persons role in the partnership and team.

The Socially Powered Core Service© is very adaptable to your corporate events and their venues. For example, an afternoon teaming activity as part of the larger event, a getting to know you evening event in an outside area, or as part of your team breakout sessions. Separately we also can deliver as an integral part of a specific team’s development training in an outdoor area, a park, or company designated location. We are a unique service and like to think outside the box for venues.

During the session we need a wireless microphone, speakers, music, and as mentioned earlier such items as masks, gloves, hand sanitizer, hula hoops or poles to ensure an inviting and comfortable learning. These are all items we can supply.

We will discuss as part of our joint plan and statement of work created from our planning session.

When executing our Socially Powered Core Service© adhere to COVID guidelines. We are also executing our program using masks, gloves, and we recommend using lots of sanitizer during the program.

When in pairs we often teach our program using handshake style, Hula Hoops, or poles. These techniques help address a person’s comfort level in learning lead and follow for both COVID safety and in a corporate environment. These are all optional and can be clearly understood in our planning session.

We can scale globally and hold simultaneous sessions by leveraging our global network of professional dancers and instructors. Severyn Szapiaczan our Head of Delivery has built and established an extensive global network of qualified dancers as a direct result of his professional dancing and teaching career.

Group Sizes and Team Participants:

We can work with small to large teams. Based on our costs, we have a minimum price which is flexible if schedule multiple sessions. For best results we recommend groups to have a common goal. If you are having a large event suggest that we break down into smaller groups. We can do multiple sessions a day. We can consider this as part of your planning session. If you want to execute the session in a large group, we can bring in “Follow” instructors to help with the executive and ensure everyone gets the most out of the workshop.
For everyone’s comfort we will use items like Hula Hoops or pools. We do use both in Ballroom dancing to develop technique. Using these tools help the participants to understand lead and follow while being socially distanced.
If there are an odd number of employees, we will leverage one of our team so that everyone is always participating.
